How far along: 19 weeks – began 10/08/2016!
Size of Baby: A mango or a large heirloom tomato. I also have a visual that says baby is the size of an old-school Gameboy device ;) – weighing in at half of a pound and about 6.5 inches long.
Milestones: The vernix caseosa, a cheese-like (YUM CHEESE) substance is forming over the skin so he doesn’t come out all wrinkly from the amniotic fluid. HOW COOL. Forest’s heart is beating about twice as fast as mine, and his limbs are more proportionate to the rest of his body.
Best Moment This Week: KICKING… or what I imagine to be body slamming. If that’s him kicking.. the size of a mango, I can only imagine what his “kicking” feels like when he triples in size.
What I’m Looking Forward To: Arnold and I are going to go on the Whole30 trip for the month of Nov – I’m excited to hopefully develop some clean and healthy food habits before Forest is born. Next week is also our anatomy scan so while I can’t wait to see little bear, I’m a little anxious as to what we may see! Hoping my placenta has moved!
What I Miss The Most: Drinking unlimited amounts of coffee! Decaf just… tastes different :P I’m also missing feeling like me – but I go into that a little bit in my identity blog post. The things I miss the most will come back to me once pregnancy is over and I’ll have a gift at the end, so I try not to get all bent out of shape.
Symptoms: paaaaaiiiiinnnn- and cramps in my legs. I AM GROWING SO FAST NOW. I wake up in the middle of the night if I roll over too fast – probably because my abdomen muscles are spreading apart and weakening. Not much bloating or swelling unless I’m on my feet for a while. For the first time, I peed a little after I sneezed, so I feel like that’s who I am for the rest of my life.
Cravings: Indian food, cookies, milkshakes, terrible sugary food…
DAD Thoughts: We ate bacon Wed night and then chilled on the couch – I put Arnolds hand on my belly because usually a meal will wake Forest up. After about five minutes, Arnold felt some nudges which will now be called the first Father-Son high five ❤️
