My first passion in life has always been animals, and then science, and then later in life it became photography. To be able to *somewhat* put them together by photographing animals is truly a dream come true. I mean, it’s never under the best circumstances when it’s something that’s associated with goodbye’s and end-of-life times, but to be able to provide such a memory is something I’m very humbled to be a part of. I never look forward to these, but I enjoy the sweetness and pace of photographing an elderly animal. The tender moments where families can reflect on the funny memories of their pet and to be able to capture that love – it’s breathtakingly beautiful.
So everyone, meet Clover. Clover is a sweet fifteen-year-old black lab gal loved by two tiny humans and a mom & dad. Her momma shared with me some words about her while we were prepping for the session. I’ll go ahead and share it here. Enjoy <3
Clover used to be a crazy obnoxious lab but has certainly mellowed in her old age. I can’t begin to tell you all the things she has chewed up in her lifetime (countless shoes, wedding photos, library books, our tax refund check). Now she really just lays around and will follow us from room to room to make sure she is where we are. My husband has a special bond with her because he is the one who picked her out at the shelter as a puppy and trained her, so we like to say Clover really has only listened to him.
