Everyone in Des Moines knows the best time of the year, and that’s when Water Works flowers bloom. The best. It doesn’t last very long, but it’s magical AF. Colorful, dreamy, bright. I love how this session makes me feel. I’m also blogging this on the same night that I’m delivering the gallery, which never happens and will probably never happen again.

UGH I am SO SLOW when it comes to blogging and trust me I want to share every single photo from every single session but do not make it a priority and that’s why you only see a post every 6 months from me. Ope. We did their engagement session about a year ago and I am still living through this session. First of all, I love people who have colorful souls and when those beautiful souls color their whole life (or head of hair) – you are my people. Jessica + Callen have such a gentle and peaceful relationship. They come off as best friends, but you know they’re super into each other too ;) We did their engagement photos at the creepy old church on Grand (that they’re going to tear down and I AM SO SAD ABOUT IT) Hint to my summer engagement friends – let’s go exploring. If you’ve never danced in the rose garden at the Des Moines Art Center, you’re also in for a treat. They’re in full bloom right now and will not disappoint. Well anyway, as I always say – less talking and more photo looking.
