Everyone in Des Moines knows the best time of the year, and that’s when Water Works flowers bloom. The best. It doesn’t last very long, but it’s magical AF. Colorful, dreamy, bright. I love how this session makes me feel. I’m also blogging this on the same night that I’m delivering the gallery, which never happens and will probably never happen again.

Peter + Taylor are getting married this fall at the ever so amazing venue Country Lane Lodge in Adel Iowa, which just so happens where we did their engagement photos last fall. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen these two cuties and am MORE THAN stoked to photograph their whole day – for real heart eyes forever. Just looking at their photos makes me want to snuggle on the couch with a cozy blanket and some hot coffee because I am remembering how CHILLY it was – could use some of that nice weather with these Iowa hot summers ;) Alas, I will never be happy with the weather.
I ALWAYS look forward to working with my wedding couples and meeting them for the first time with an engagement session. Sam + Ben. Delta + Maggie. Two of the cutest humans and two of the cutest pups. I just LOVE that they brought their fur babies along to their engagement session. This session and the love that this little family has for each other is my favorite. All of its vibes give me all the feels and I was in photographer heaven. Sam is a natural in front of the camera and her joyous and silly personality is contagious. She and Ben came ready for fun and opened up to me so I could capture these sweet moments. Iowa lost two really awesome people to North Dakota, but I bet they’re living their best lives up there!! Hope you lovers are enjoying the amazing nature and woods that ND has to offer!
