You and your newborn baby. You’ve finally made it home after a long and tiresome journey. You’ve created a space and a life that you’ll be able to enjoy for many years. Let’s capture that. A lifestyle newborn session is focused on documenting your lives in that very moment. An organic setting like your home, where you’re resting and learning how your little baby works, provides comfort and a no-hassle way to tell the story of those first early moments. My approach is simple and candid; I want to photograph you loving and snuggling on your newest family member.
My props are limited to a few furs & blankets, and the session itself will be more of a flow through some of your routines rather than excessive posing. If your baby starts to fuss, I’ll observe the way you gently lift her up and snuggle her into your heart. We’ll get those little details of her fingers & toes, those rolls, and that double hair swirl on the back of her head. I’ve learned that dads are usually the best swaddlers and there’s no smile more genuine or real than a momma looking at her newest. I will be capturing the “day in the life” of you and your new itty bitty, so if you nurse, don’t be afraid to nurse your baby in front of me (I’m a proud breastfeeder of 14 months)!
These sessions are typically booked within the first few weeks of your baby’s life. You’ve maybe had a day or two to gather your bearings and get comfortable in your home. Maaayyyybe your little tiny has allowed you some sleep or a hint on their routine. Don’t worry about making your home spotless or stress out about your hair and makeup – real life is messy and chaotic and I’m pretty sure I looked like shrek for my son’s newborn session. We’re going to focus more on your own unique story and relax.
